Training Practice

GP REGISTRARS

Our Registrars are fully-qualified Doctors who have chosen General Practice as the career they wish to pursue. They spend one year with us and are closely supervised by Doctors to ensure that they are able to provide care of the same standard as that provided by your Doctor.

FOUNDATION YEAR DOCTORS

As part of our training commitment, we also have “FY2” Doctors in our surgeries. These Doctors are not yet fully qualified and join us typically for 3 months as part of their training rotation.

MEDICAL STUDENTS

We also teach medical students. A medical student may be present while you are having a consultation with your Doctor. You will always be told if a student is going to be present. If you wish to see the Doctor alone, please tell the receptionists and nobody will take offence!

PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATES

We employ two P.A's. They are clinically trained and work with our GP's, providing patient care.

NURSING STUDENTS

We offer placements for nursing students to expand their nursing skills whilst caring for our patients.

Nurses

We have a comprehensive team of Practice Nurses who see patients on an appointment system from Monday to Friday. They work closely with the Doctors and are able to advise on various health problems. As well as performing general nursing duties such as changing dressings and removing stitches, they also run specialist clinics for those with asthma, diabetes and hypertension. They also carry out adult and child immunisations, cervical smears and give advice on travel-related health issues. An appointment can be made online or via the reception team.

Healthcare Assistants

Our HCA's run a variety of clinics including taking blood samples, blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiogram tests (ECG), hearing tests etc.

Practice Management

The practice management team is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The management team supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also help to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
